Video localization pricing: how it works
VoiceStudio bills per minute of source video. The per-minute price depends on the number of target languages and the options you choose; lip-sync is the main multiplier.
Every project gets an exact quote after scoping, before production starts. No subscription, no hidden costs: you pay for delivered production, quality control included.
What determines your price
Source minutes
The total runtime of your source videos is the base of the calculation. A longer catalog costs more, but benefits from volume pricing.
Number of languages
Each target language adds a full production run: dedicated translation, voices, subtitles, and quality control.
Options
Lip-sync is the main price multiplier. Other options, like translated or animated subtitles, are added à la carte.
Traditional agency, self-serve tool, or VoiceStudio
Three ways to localize a video, three very different cost structures.
| Criteria | Traditional agency | Self-serve AI tool | VoiceStudio |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cost per minute | 100 to 500 € per minute per language, based on published industry rates | Subscription + your team's production time | Per-source-minute quote, well below traditional agency rates |
| Turnaround | Weeks to months, studio and voice-actor scheduling | Fast, but depends on your team's availability | Tuned to volume and complexity, committed at scoping |
| Who manages QA | The agency, built into the high rate | You, in languages you may not speak | VoiceStudio: human review of every deliverable |
| Validation workflow | Email back-and-forth, often at the end of the project | None: you are on your own | Built-in checkpoints: transcript, translation, final render |
| Deliverables | Final files, formats to be negotiated | Raw export, finishing is on you | Publish-ready videos, audio tracks, SRT/VTT subtitles, and transcripts |
Traditional-agency ranges reflect published industry rates for professional multilingual dubbing.

Pricing questions
How is a 10-hour course into 5 languages priced?
The base is the source runtime: 10 hours is 600 minutes. Each target language adds a full production run, with volume pricing applied at that scale. The quote breaks down the price per language and per option before anything starts.
Is lip-sync extra?
Yes. Lip-sync is an option, and it is the main price multiplier. Plenty of training content works well without it; we recommend it when the speaker is framed close on screen.
Do you offer volume pricing?
Yes. The per-minute price decreases with volume, and ongoing retainers for recurring catalogs get dedicated pricing.
What's the minimum project size?
The managed service is built for catalogs, series, and recurring needs. For a single short video, our self-serve tool VoiceCheap is often the better fit; we tell you honestly at scoping.
Why don't you publish a rate card?
Because two projects with the same runtime can differ completely: language count, lip-sync, output formats, recurring volume. Publishing a single number would be misleading. The model itself is public: per source minute, volume-based, options à la carte.
How do I get an exact price?
Book a demo or send us one video with your target languages. We scope the need and you receive an itemized quote, with a committed timeline, before anything starts.
